Had to come home and treat myself to a little bubbly soft drink because the dog getting hit by a car was a bit upsetting to the stomach. Delicate me. This poor dog was brought into the clinic the last hour I was there. Yup, hit by a car. Miracle that he didn't have any broken bones, but he is shredded, like walking on bones instead of legs. Boy oh ( Read more... )

Job satisfaction outweighs the pay in some cases. My sister-in-law (younger one) said that she would rather be a starving artist than work in an office. I laughed at her (involuntarily) because:
1) she wont be saying that when she has kids (or a kid).
2) she didn't specify what kind of office, there are some that are really fun depending on the field of work.
3) "starving artist" isn't an exaggeration... it really means starving.

But she's still a teenager and she'll wise up.

...and poor dog. What happened to the dog? Treated or euthanized? Sue told me about her trip to Washington state and how they hit a deer on a highway... but it only clipped the corner of the truck. The clip was damaging enough that Eric shot the poor thing. She said she cried for a while. I probably would too. I don't think I can work with animals for the same reasons why I can't work with kids... I would be too emotional and develop attachments.

It's going to be treated. If the owners want to put it down for that reason, I'll adopt it. It just needs some surgery, but because of the lack of tissue left, it needs some time to heal before the surgery to sew everything back up. So it's bandaged, alive, no broken bones, will survive, but it will cost the owners a pretty penny!!!

I guess someone who cares more about the animals than the pay would do something like that... ;o)
