Oh, I think I saw that show, too! Is it the one where they showed the distillery in the Loire with the ironwork by Eiffel and that gorgeous copper still?

I was lucky enough to have some absinthe most recently at the Bar Marcella in Barcelona. Do you think absinthe will lose it's mystique now that it will more readily available here??

Happy 21st! :)

That's the one! Great show. I think it may have been, like, two hours or somethin. Also had all the Gin and Vodka stills N'stuff.

Did they also have a part on moonshine, or am I thinking of another show? They should have more shows like that! :)

It's actually called repeal day. It's the newest drinking holiday. repealday.org

That's cool about absinthe, any word about it being available in New York?

Happy Repeal Day! God bless the American legal system!

This article (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/05/dining/05absi.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin ...I like his description of the Czech absinthe he tasted) would suggest that you will be able to buy St George in New York, but hopefully it will just be a matter of time before someone starts distilling it locally, too!
