Long entry is loooooooong, Part 1
NOW THAT I'M BACK FROM STUPID SUPRAISE YORK TRIP, I CAN DO THE ENTRY ON LONDON. Because sweet zombie Jesus, that was utterly brilliant. London, I officially love you.
VGL was fantastic, really really fantastic. They had a video message from Kojima himself introducing the MGS part, and then they played the full MGS2 theme and I LOVE THAT THEME it's my favourite and it gets me so pumped up. And they did all these other ones, like WoW and Mass Effect and Halo and Everquest and then they had this guy up who won the Guitar Hero competition and got him to do a secondary challenge RIGHT ON STAGE and it was FUCKING AWESOME the guy was INCREDIBLE. Also they had the Video Game Pianist and he's really something, it's amazing.
And then when they finished and everyone was shouting ENCORE ENCORE they came back out and asked what they should play and there was just this shout of "ONE WINGED ANGEL" and they built up to it by playing the crowd and saying 'WE'RE ALL GEEKS HERE, SO I WANT TO SEE SOME LIGHTS - PHONES, DS', WHATEVER' and some guy held up a MacBook and he was like 'what is that - a Mac?' and everyone boo'd and it was hilarious.
And then they played the version of One Winged Angel from AC and it was so awesome.
And then they said BUT THAT WAS TOO PREDICTABLE SO HERE and then they played this huge Castlevania thing and it also was awesome.
There were also loads of cosplayers - I have photos.
The first guy we saw was this Leon. I took one first and then his mate said DUDE, DON'T JUST STAND THERE, DO A POSE, LIFT YOUR GUNBLADE OR SOMETHING so that's why he's laughing. XD
I actually feel really guilty about this, because she was manning the booth and I asked for a photo and then afterwards she said 'oh, can you send it to me? I need photos for my portfolio' and I said that's fine, and she wrote down her email and I put it in the camera case and then IT FELL OUT WITHOUT ME NOTICING so I can't send it and I feel bad.
The concert hall was so big and during all the songs, the lights would flash and colour-change and pan around and make shapes. So awesome. (Also if you look closely? That IS the Windows screensaver. It was showing a VGL slideshow and then it cut to that and the whole audience laughed and started taking photos. XD I was like, my god, I'M AMONG MY OWN PEOPLE.
These guys made my day even better. I came out during the interval and was waiting for the glass lift and then it comes up with these guys in it and I was just 'andbgashfjas MGS COSPLAYERS' and we had a long chat and they were so nice.
Link was actually playing a song on that ocarina. XD And the Cloud's costume was brilliant.

EPIC MASTER CHIEF WAS FUCKING EPIC. He was glowing, man!
Okay, she wasn't actually dressed up as Hobohodo, she was just wearing the hat, but I wanted a photo of said hat and she was as big an Ace Attorney fan as me, so she couldn't resist the opportunity to OBJECTION pose.
