Actually, to be honest, I did it because I've been thinking about starting my original novel as a comic, and in the very first chapter there are old men and I don't know how to draw old men, which kind of puts a full stop on the project before it even begins. So I thought I'd get some practice on drawing cool crazy old guys from Final Fantasy.
