I'm so sorry. *hugs*

Can you borrow a neighbor's cockatiel (in a cage, of course)? Sometimes a missing bird will come back when he hears another cockatiel calling.

(Note: I can't remember if it says this in Cockatiels for Dummies or not.)

*hugs you tightly* I feel your pain, jane_doll. My little boy Summer a couple years flew out my window and he was taken up by the wind in the windy day. We were all devastated and I made a LOAD of flyers that I posted everywhere in the neighborhood and petshops. About over 12 days later a lady said she has my cockatiel and sure enough it was him!

So don't give up. If I can get my bird back, I'm sure you can too. Just keep making A LOT of flyers and ads in the newspapers and I'm sure someone out there could find your baby, or at least keep a heads up on him. I'm so sorry though that this had to happen. best of luck and wishes to you :(

There is hope! My Crackers flew out the door one spring-summer day and was returned to me 4 days later - the thing is, she flew about 14 miles! I would, in addition to putting up 'lost' signs and handing out flyers to neighbors, put ads in all the local papers for a lost cockatiel, and any other public bulletin boards. Since it's warm out now, as long as the bird is young and healthy, he should be okay - so many people leave out bird seed he shouldn't have a problem finding food. I hope you can get him back!
