Blue & Bu eat pellets!

I would just like to announce that my beebs eat pellets now! AND... I used MY OWN method to get them to do so! It was very simple. They eat the Zupreem fruit ones... I think thats them. The ones that smell like and are in the shape of fruits.

My beebs are very tame and they ALWAYS want some of what I've got for dinner. They will eat it off my plate or out of my hands. So I used this to my advantage. I started handfeeding them pellets when I was eating dinner. They'd crunch them right out of my hand and then eat whatever crumbs fell on the table.

They have three stainless steel food bowls in their cage. I use one for water and two for foods. In one, I put a good amount of the pellets. In the other I put a small amount of seed. I then leave for work in the morning. Obviously there isn't enough seed for two cockatiels so they finish that off first and throughout the day they notice the pellets and will snack on those. Also what I did to encourage them to eat them was switch what foods went in which dish every day. One day the seed was in the left dish and pellets in the right dish. The next day I'd switch.

Eventually I will try to rule out seed altogether and save it as just a snack, but you can imagine my happiness when I see the two of them hanging out on the dish with the pellets and crunching away!
