I don't know if it's *ahead* of schedule, but it seems to be at least *on* schedule. Steve and I went out to the site yesterday and actually walked through our unit. Hard hats and everything! They're still framing the 2nd level, but from the looks of it they might be able to start roofing soon. The building next door which they are also building is a little further than ours - that one has roof, windows, doors - seems they are trying to get things enclosed as quickly as they can, which is nice.
I don't know if these are done in your area, but for furniture I would suggest trying to find an auction house. There is one not far from where I'm living right now, and Steve and I went to a model home furniture auction a little over a week ago, and we ended up getting a bunch of nice stuff for SUPER cheap. There were curio cabinets -- GORGEOUS ones -- going for like $100-200 (would probably retail for $800-1000), couches going for $100-500, lots of decorations, end tables, lamps, artwork, etc. It was FANTASTIC. We are definitely going back to this place next time a model home auction comes around, so we can hopefully get a couch and loveseat set, and maybe even a dining set. (the place we went is www.auctionmasters.com if you are interested in trying to find a comparable business in your area)
