I was put up by a secretarial recruitment firm for a receptionist job at Dentsu Europe, and, despite being told I was a very good candidate, I didn't get it - mainly because they weren't convinced that I'd stay on long enough.
Ironic, really. I can't convince anyone to give me any kind of job in any field, and the only people to even interview me in months won't employ me because they think I'm some sort of super-employable career-man.
Anyway, I'm not totally despondent; I did a translation test for Pokemon UK (this'll be the third time I've been put up for a job at that company - I'm thinking the God of Fate wants me to deal with inane trivia for a living) last week, should be hearing back from them soon. An odd stroke of luck - the recruitment company putting me up for it told me I was going for a Japanese/French translator role, but the people at the company got confused and tested me for Japanese/English. So my chances of being employed are several times improved, as I'm not all that confident in my French at the mo.
Fingers crossed.
