So I finally found a buyer for my congas and got the Djembe pictured above.(crappy pic, all i got is a webcam) This drum sounds absolutely amazing! The bass tones are very deep and the slap is nice and loud, almost "piercingly" loud. Im almost addicted to it since I got it last week, i wake up and its like the first thing i do. Eventually I think im gonna hit up craigslist or somthing and find a band to jam with. I would like to do somthing more on the funkier, jazzy, soul-y side of things. Ive always imagined doing an old school funk thing with a few horn players. Now that would be nuts.
