the roots of george

no doubt was my first rock obsession.

At first, I moved to Florida without any musical interest at all. Then, i started getting into pop because it made u popular or some shit. Next, I started getting into Eminem, my rap phase, it was an easy transition because both are really shallow and have no real purpose. They both suck.

Then my teen angst kicked in. My self-antithesis.

I kinda started getting into rock through punk. Blink 182 to be exact. And then i realized how awesome the rock and roll life style was.

Before hand, i hate to admit it, i was a britney spears fan. She seems kinda sexy in a girl next door kinda way. Then they got sluty. I actually tried to steal some britney stickers at a local eckard.

I got caught and the police came and warned me and stuff. It sucked. That was the most scary point in my life.

Anyway, that totally turned me off to pop music and rap music respectively.
It was still the "Era of Good feelings" in the 90's so i had just started watchin videos for their true meaning. In value of coolness instead of popularity. At that time, no doubt was doing this television thing called storytellers, i think, where they told stories while playing their hits. Also, the constant bombardment of behind the music, really sparked interest in me.

Gwen stefani was such a good singer, and the lyrics were awesome...not to mention Tom Dumont killer guitar on dont speak. I swear i was hooked from the first time i saw them. I anything I am a no doubt fan before a nirvana fan. I just lack enough No doubt albums to stake that claim. I love it when bands take the raw material of musical genre's like punk, metal, reggae, techno, and just mesh them in so well.

After that i went on a binge; basically i went through an enlightenment. Punk like blink 182, sum41, new found glory, and even green day appealled to me somewhat, but didnt grasp my attention. I really got into harder faster rock, and more complex styles of the nineties.

Now I almost view myself as a collecter of music. I see myself as an archive of information... The true mark of a psuedointelectual.
