After spending last Sunday in the park all day, we decided to pretty much do this all summer long, unless otherwise engaged, and thought it would be a blast to have friends there to play with! Look for the lime green tiki umbrella :) We're thinking anytime around 12pm-8pm
We liked the area south of the Rec Center and west of the Maintenance Building (between Ohio and Kentucky Streets) near all the volleyball sweaty awesomeness :), a few more shaded areas for escape from the sun if desired, and it's easy to find eachother there with the landmarks.
We have a few park-fun items (Frisbees, kites etc), but plan on purchasing more.
After being there for oh, about 6 hours, this is the list of things we thought would be fun and helpful to have for the weeks to follow, other than the obvious park gear (Blankets, Food, Papertowels, Lots of Fluids (both water and firewater), Sunscreen, etc):
Spray water bottles or even water guns ;)
Rollerblades, bikes, or the like
A citranella candle for those coming after 6 and wanting to enjoy the sunset
Hand sanitizer/bio friendly soap for post bathroom use
And all the friends, balls, flippy things, books, art materials, games, and park stuff you can bring! (kiddy pools would rule, lol)
