Can i just put this out there:
Why not for just one Christmas/Holiday present you let your family & friends know that this year, perhaps just this once, you'll be giving one homemade present to them, or something you purchased made by people in your neighborhood who created something special.
Conducive with my general feeling that, oh wait do we really need more "landfill plastic shit" or "fashion for the moment" in our lives? and also seeing the silly movie title on the Sundance Chanel i saw earlier..."What would Jesus buy"?
Not only would you be supporting your community,(fuck walmart), but i think it would alleviate the stress and debt that most of us undertake for the holidays.
Gifts like these would also be exceedingly more memorable!
One thoughtful, well-made gift that is bought locally and supports those around you is worth a thousand flippant, unnecessary, and mass-produced items that are made in other countries, they're just things to collect physically in your life, and just a reminder...you don't take it with you.
