If you've ever referred to the plants as trees, shrubs, hedges, or a grove, you might have grown tomatoes.

If you've ever referred to pruning as "thinning out the understory", you might have grown tomatoes.

Mmmmmmm now I want a little garden to grow tomatoes! Even just little cherry type.

Homemade salsa is awesome. I hope yours is nice and spicy (though that's how I like it). Canning/jarring seems like such a fun, cozy kind of job in a way... only because it makes me think of things like cabins, rustic living, and grandmas.

It's all fun and games until you realize you have absolutely no idea what to do with all those green tomatoes. :) But it is kinda neat to be putting up stuff all on my own. We did tomatoes, pickles, jams, and spiced oranges when I was young. (It is easier when you have more hands, let me tell you.)
One of the batches of salsa was so hot that argh128 actually started choking. We brought a bunch over to the neighbors for a housewarming party.

What did we do with that green tomato chutney recipe? I think it's really good.

I'm pretty sure I tried it, after Brooks posted - but it was too tart for me. I tried it alone, and on meat, and it just wasn't something I liked. :(

If you awake to find bags of the fruit outside your door... you're probably right! :)
