If You Work It Out

Well, i'm amazed to say it, but the Grand Prix was another exciting one! Four different drivers had a chance of winning, they all led at one point, but only one of them was still around at the end. The battle between the two Renaults and the two McLarens reminded me of when Ferrari and Williams were fighting for the title. The two top drivers Schumacher and Villeneuve (Raikkonen and Alonso) being backed up by their teammates Irvine and Frentzen (Montoya and Fisichella). I hope the teams don't introduce team orders because i think both Montoya and Fisichella can win races this year.
Anyway, Fisichella got into the lead at the start, followed by Alonso. Both drove around the two front row men, Schumacher M and Button into the first corner. Fisichella led the first half of the race before he had a hydraulics problem. Alonso took over the lead before he hit the wall and broke his suspension which put Montoya into the lead, until the safety car came out, and Montoya misheard his pits telling him to come in. In the end he pitted, but ran a red light when exiting the pitlane and was disqualified. Raikkonen won in the end from Schumacher M and Barrichello.
Button should have been second, but he dropped it in the final chicane and smacked the wall. BAR still yet to score a point this year. Trulli would have been third but had a complete brake faliure, luckily at a part of the track with a large run-off area. This promoted Barrichello who started from the pitlane and drove a steady race up through the field.
Of the others, Massa did excellently to fend off both Williams to finish fourth, Webber finished fifth but should have been higher if he hadn't made his contracted (it must be) mid-race cock-up, Schumacher R was sixth and the two Red Bulls 7th & 8th.
And Nick? Well he probably would have had yet another podium, but his engine overheated behind Massa early on and ended up self destructing 24 laps from home. A shame because he was running longer than Massa on his second stint, and was also ahead of Rubens. He made a great start, but because they fuelled him long at his first pitstop, he dropped behind Webber. Webber then decided that 20 laps without a mistake was far too much and ran briefly off the road letting Massa by. This was ok, but not good enough for Webber, so he shot down the inside of Massa at the hairpin and sailed wide letting Ralf and Nick through too. Job done he plodded round and lucked into 5th place. Gah! I hate the twat
Anyway if there is a bright spot it's that Nick gets a fresh engine for Indy, a track which is very hard on them, so hopefully Webber might get his first engine faliure of the year, and hopefully Nick won't get his fourth. Lucky fuck.

I had an enjoyable night on Saturday. Sandy came in (i say came in, she fell through the door) completely hammered and i had to put my parenting skills into good use as she couldn't stand up. For those of you who have seen Sandy, you will appreciate the effort it took me to get her up and down the stairs :O/ It was quite amusing though when she fell backwards over the sofa, tripped over the table, and fell asleep on the bathroom floor with her legs up on the toilet lol
