I was definitely surprised to read
this article at the Washington Post about what appear to be reasonable anti-abortion folks. Some of them have decided that it would be better to set up social help systems for pregnant women than to keep trying to overturn Roe v. Wade. Because it's been thirty years or so and that hasn't worked. So they are working with pro-choice folks to pass laws providing pregnant women with health-care, education, and other good stuff.
I think it would be best to provide all women, or everyone really, with all this stuff, but this is a good start.
Maybe this whole Obama thing might work out.
