I'd like to thank
Random Dan,
Intolerant Elle, and
Orycteropus Afer for their hard work on the previous carnivals.
Pastor Snyder gave us a tough topic last week and then capped it off with the hurricane, so it's time for the Carnival to become a little lighter.
If you saw this post early Monday evening you saw that the suggested topic was sports. I don't want people to get the wrong impression that I only want sports posts. It can be hard to write something good on a topic prescribed at a week's notice. Whatever the topic of your post, I will treat it
as promised.
Please send submissions according to
the rules, with one exception: If you want to submit a link to someone else's work, go ahead. Please follow the format, down to the third-person summary, and check your submission against the previous four Carnivals to avoid duplication.
In a further attempt to stem likely chaos, the Carnival will continue to have one entry per author. If multiple posts by the same author are nominated, I'll simply choose one. If a post's author is contributing something else for the week, the author's contribution will be used. If you nominate a post, and that post does not show in the Carnival, it is likely one of these two situations occurred. I will likely not have time to preemptively notify everyone when there's a conflict.
One more item: if a submission turns out not to meet the quia standard we hold dear, I will leave it off the Carnival post and respond to it in another post of my own. I am no Kung-Fu Master, to use the
Terrible Swede's terminology, so I will hold the post up for the entire dojo to read and comment. If I'm mistaken and the post is kosher, I'll add it to the list. The earlier your submission, the more fairly I can review it.
The deadline for submission will be when my babies go to sleep Friday night (somewhere around 9-10pm EDT).
