Today was the first day I've ever been proud to live in Gautier rather than Ocean Springs. I'm trying to get a P.O. Box for the summer since I won't have an apartment, but the OS Postal People won't cooperate. I've been to Ocean Springs twice, called them 3 times, and they're still confusing me. I went to the Gautier post office this morning and they didn't know what the OS people were talking about, and then when I had to go back to the Gautier office, they told me this was ridiculous. The wonderful Postal worker, Martha, told me that if I have any more problems in OS to call her and let her talk to the person I am dealing with in Ocean Springs. She also added that if I had to make one more trip, then she'd tell them to give me my box for free. Now whether they can do that or not, I don't know, but it was nice to have someone on my side.
Too many times does it feel like the world is against me. I'm sure a lot of you know exactly what I'm talking about. You feel like no one is on your side and you're just a little squirrel trying to get a nut as my 6th grade counselor used to say. All I can say is "Hang in the there". It may seem like no ones there, but then think about how you got to where you are. You couldn't have done it by yourself. So, although it may seem dark and lonely, it never really is. You just have to open your eyes and your heart and let in the light.
