27th Birthday Weekend

Jun 13, 2010 22:29

after the long week at work and the schedule that kept changing (not my fault this time) it was time for my birthday party which started out as a World Cup party with Mike, Darryl, Caroline, Laura and Andrew. then i invited almost everyone i knew in the Bay Area on friday, mere hours before the bash.

kickoff was at 1130 so Caroline and her friend from England, Amy arrived and made a traditional English summertime drink called PIMMS, it was tasty. Ruth, the Thai's, the Thorpe's, JP3, and my wonderful new roommate Kristen (made a double decker red velvet cake) in attendance. We cleaned out a lot of food from the fridge and pantry. we had a lot of doubles that needed to get rid of. so we grilled out. it just so happened that my old roommate, Lorinda, officially moved out. the bad thing was that she took the BBQ and the gas fire pit, (that i thought came with the house) with her as she turned in her keys :(

the US and England tied. we lolligagged and went to the pool until heading out to Shamrocks where three guys from my boat's band played. unsure if that previous sentence is grammatically correct. they were good and we stayed until they were done with their sets. we checked out Churchward and hung out with the girls some more. it has been awhile since i was at a bar until closing time.

today i hung out around the house. downloaded Skype. love it. got to talk to Andrew Grantham from his undisclosed location and am looking forward to meeting Erin and CJ's baby online first, and talking to my overseas friends.

at church today we continued with the book of Ruth. in chapter 3, when i read it prior it was not what i thought. Pastor Gary talked about how righteous Naomi, Ruth and Boaz were and how they redeemed the family. he drew parallels about how Jesus Christ is the redeemer of each of our families. i had been gone the past two sundays (wedding in Arroyo Grande and home in Seattle).

after church we had dinner at house of curries. i was craving Indian food, so to continue my birthday weekend, they let me decide. making the decision where to get meal after church is one of the hardest to make. i felt loved by my friends. we topped off the evening with Ici Ice Cream and i had the yummy gingerbread. not as good as Tuckers in Alameda.

shakedown tomorrow! be blessed BOUTWELL.
