What is the meaning...in your opinion....of Jimi Hendrix' rendition of the Star Spangled Banner? Is it anti-American? Is it pro-American? Both? Is it a cry for help? Is it simply an attempt to push America to get with the times? What is your take on it? I was thinking about this because when I was back east on Thanksgiving, my dad asked me why I was listening to it, and (to my surprise) said that he thought it was anti-American, even though (from my understanding) he helped the peace movement in the late '60s, supported McGovern, etc etc.
