If only I’d known
What you’d bring
To my life:
Everything.
You are my friend
The best I have
The stories we share
The times we laugh;
From unexpected places
True friends come;
An odd couple we make,
Understood by none.
When first we met
Not so long ago,
You had a circle of friends,
And who was I to know
That I would become one as well
Despite experiences not shared;
For we have much in common,
More than I’d ever expect,
And I hope our friendship never fades
Not even when we’re beyond the grave.
