Glee survey
I asked 8 High Schoolers if they knew the songs (Genie In a Bottle by Christina A. and Ride Wit Me by Nelly) then I asked if they liked it enough to know the lyrics. Here are the results...
1. Girl age 17 - GIAB knew the song and knows the lyrics. RWM knew the song but doesn't like it so she didn't know the words.
2. Girl age 16 - GIAB knew the song and knows the lyrics. They just played the song 2 weeks ago at their high school dance. RWM knew the song and knows lyrics.
3. Girl age 16 - GIAB knew the song and knows the lyrics. Has the CD out in her car. RWM knows the song and lyrics.
4. Girl age 19 grad. 4 mths ago so I counted it - GIAB knows the song but hates it. Doesn't know any lyrics. RWM knows the song but hates it. Doesn't know any lyrics.
5. Boy age 16 - GIAB knows the song but hates it. Doesn't know any lyrics. RWM knows the song but hates it. Doesn't know any lyrics. I had a feeling though that he was hiding the truth in order to look cool.
6. Boy age 16 - GIAB Doesn't know the song at all. Doesn't know any lyrics. RWM knows the song but hates it. Doesn't know any lyrics. He only listens to country.
7. Girl age 18 grad. 4 mths ago so I counted it - GIAB knows the song but hates it but knows all the lyrics. RWM knows the song and the lyrics.
8. Boy age 19 grad. 4 mths ago so I counted it - GIAB knows the song but hates it. Doesn't know any lyrics. RWM knows the song and knows the lyrics
Now out of all of them the only ones I see being in Glee are 1, 2, 3, and 7. So I'd say that it could definitely be possible for kids in high school today to know RWM and have a impromptu jam session.
