If you don’t think about it, it’s easy. If you slice off heads and turn the guys talking to you to dust, if you focus on the mission and duty and nothing else, it’s simple. You talk at them, you set up a slick, snark-packed protective skin so you can’t think of them as people, as beings who aren’t living but are certainly existing; and if you don’t consider yourself a killer but hide under a less bloody title like slayer, you can still look at yourself in the mirror every night.
If you don’t think, you can be content.
