In light of recent spoilers for the comics, I give you the only plausible explanation. *nodnod* (Well, I have something about Nikki Wood and student loans. But that's a subject for another drabble.)

As silly as it is, I really did think that Andrew was one of the top candidates for the daddy. But oh god, if they really do that, I don't know if I should cry or laugh...

I know right? But if it has to happen, I'd be kind of okay with it being Andrew, just because it'd be such fun. :D

We don't know who Heinrich is yet. All we know is that he is the next door neighbor. Allie has been tight lipped on it.

It would be fun for like, 2-3 issues, but then in the long term it would be face palming to me. I would be OK if Andrew was the Dad too. I mean at the party she was talking to him lots, and had a water fight thingy with him (both their clothes got wet), etc.

I have only a few top candidates and Andrew seems the safest...because I don't think Buffy would jump a complete stranger. I know she was drunk, but I don't think they would have her sleep with a random dude and then have a baby with the stranger. Yeah, maybe that happens in real life and it's possible but narratively speaking it's Buffy. Would the writers want to have a stranger be the dad? Shouldn't there be an emotional connection, even as silly one as Andrew? So really, I can only see Andrew, Riley, Xander or (yes, I think they would go there) Spike to be the dad unless it's Heinrich, but I honestly think that it's misdirection for that guy to be the Dad

Hence my suspicions, though I wonder if Allie's just messing with us. He's been known to do it in the past.

I'm hoping for a short arc. However it ends (abortion, just a scare, etc), I'd rather it not take over the season, though Jeanty has hinted that it will... :/

Agree with you on the possibilities, though as elleyezee points out, Andrew's the only one who hasn't been hinted at, which raises his prospects higher. And oh my god I'm actually considering this as canon. *shudders*

Xander wasn't hinted at either though, as awful as that sounds. It could be a misdirection all around and no one is the father, just the fairy thing.

And I wish that too but I think it's going to be around all season long, it'll probably end with the birth and/or death of the child.

But yeah, I agree, Andrew is a top candidate. I'm shuddering right along with you.

Ugh, what a soap opera twist. Buffy did the whole motherhood concept with Dawn, why bring it back when there are so many other things to work with in terms of twenties!drama? (And this is from someone who just did her own pregnancy! I don't need it mirrored in Buffy, thankyouverymuch. Keep it in fic, people. :/)

I've seen the speculation that Buffy will give birth to magic, or the new Seed of Wonder, so maybe it'll be more so tied with plot rather than motherhood?

We can hope! I mean, the emotional component of a pregnancy doesn't bother me, per se, and I would be interested in seeing how that plays out. It's the dubcon beginnings, the "sex is bad" attitude, and Joss's track record with pregnancy plots that have me irritated.
