There was a part of Riley that was drawn to her, even now that he’d moved on and done far better for himself. There was a part of him that shuddered and cried out in horrified fury watching that…monster…defile her down the road. His primary concern was for her safety, and he could see from her face that she was too far gone already, that only a complete betrayal could jar her from her self-built prison.
He snapped another photograph of her, capturing that frightening detachment on her face, and considered putting those Suvolte eggs he’d confiscated to good use.
