A Black Cloud Over My Sunny Days...
So everything here had been going really well! Last Saturday the girls and I went out to eat at this amazing Chinese place and then went to go see The 40 year-old Virgin. It was pretty funny I must say. Then Saturday was Ely’s Birthday so we got up early and headed to the race track. Random for us, I know, but it was something different! One of Ely’s friends from undergrad is named Megan. And Megan’s Dad and brother race cars so we went to watch them race for the day! So we got there and it was a beautiful day! And then we found out that if you signed a waiver that said that if you died, you couldn’t hold anyone responsible that you were allowed to sit in the car while they raced. This is to their benefit because it gives more traction to both sides of the car! So I got to ride in a race car DURING a race! It was CRAZY fun!!
Monday I started work. I have 14 pre-K kids. They are wild and crazy but I’m so glad that I get to be working with kids again. They are exhausting, but adorable. Camp was only for 8 weeks, so after 8 weeks, let’s see if I’m still sane! I start teaching my University class next Monday.
Now I travel on three different major highways to get to work each day and I still don’t know the city very well, so I still use my directions to get to and from work. Yesterday (Tuesday) I looked up, saw there was a green light, so the traffic would keep moving, looked down at my directions and when I looked back up I was running right into the car in front of me. I hit them pretty much at full speed because I barely had time to even hit my brakes. Ely just got her car back from the car shop yesterday from her accident 4 weks ago. The front end of my car is completely smashed in, the windshield shattered when the air bags went off. The air bags have some sort of crazy chemicals in them and burnt both my arms. I’m pretty banged up and the car place said that the car will most defiantly be considered a total loss. I’m not usually one to cling to material items, but I loved that car. L The insurance stuff is a mess and I couldn’t go to work today because I didn’t have a car. Sucky.
So I’m sad about my car and physically a mess and My birthday is on Saturday. Some birthday it will be. L tear….
