Community service, foster families....ok, and volunteers

Let me take the most irritating first....a couple signed up to be foster parents to our kittens and cats. However, they don't want to foster the tiny kittens, or even the ones almost ready to be made adoptable. Only the already adoptable ones. Like the ones in my kitten room, who have a huge room to play in, lots of toys, more than enough food and water, plenty of litter pans, and four different things to climb on, use as scratchers and generally play on. They actually don't want to foster at all, they just want to take kittens homes to see who they want to adopt. About as helpful as giving a snake a pair of shoes. Want to help? Then foster those who need fostering....like my blind mama cat, or the one with six newborns....or the ones who are a couple of weeks away from being the two pounds to be fixed and made adoptable. If not them, perhaps one of the adult cats who has been sitting in a cage for three to six months. If you want to adopt, pick a cat or kitten, pay the adoption fee and get out of here.

Ok, community service. People who have done something wrong, they sometimes do serve jail time, otherwise, they have xx hours of 'community service' and are given a choice of places. Some, in fact, many of them, work hard, do their best and we enjoy having them. Others.....
Lady, if I tell you to 'sweep and mop the lobby, offices and bathrooms' I mean SWEEP AND MOP. Take that broom, get UNDER cages, get right up BY the cages, go into the Vet's office, the directors office INTO THE BATHROOMS and SWEEP UP THE MESS. DO NOT LISTLESSLY SWING THE BROOM. Next time I see you do that, I will take the broom, explain and show how to 'sweep with an attitude' then watch you like a hawk. You already hate me cause I made you clean cages..and reclean them. After that, we'll start on laundry and I'll show you how to do that too. You are NOT here to play on your phone, cuddle kittens and sit your fat ass around. You are here to work. (and yes, I CAN call her fat, she's at least twice as big as me, and yes I'M overweight)

Volunteers....again, some bad, some good. One thing....don't act like you 'know everything' just because you have 'worked here a couple of hours, now and then' Oh..and do NOT put your hands into a cage that has a red tag on it. Yes, that cat just spit and hissed at you, she does that to everyone, she is wild. She is also defending her babies. No you can't reach in and cuddle them. Go out and cuddle the rabbit, I'm busy.

bad volunteers are still bad, animal shelter / zoo, laziness
