International Lolita Day

May 15, 2011 13:41

Hello, Colorado Lolitas! I'm new to this community so let me introduce myself.
My name is Scout and while I've been into Lolita for a while, I haven't really been active in the local comm. I think it would be a great idea to have a meetup on International Lolita Day, which is on Saturday Sunday, June 5th.

I read that you guys generally meet up in ( Read more... )

Welcome to the community!
I Would like to do dinner and karaoke too, sounds fun!
we usually end up going to Q-club (a purikura shop) during meets up there so manybe if people wanted to meet a little earlier could do that then go to dinner and karaoke .

Thank you!
A little before meetup sounds fun. :3
Is there any place that you, or anyone else, had in mind for dinner? Is there a usual place for dinner and karaoke?

I am not sure about dinner (sorry, i don't live up there) but family karaoke is the usual place for karaoke. It is about 14 mins from Q-club though so if some people only have rides to q-club they will probibly need help getting tto dinner and karaoke .

Some adresses
Family- 2760 South Havana Street, Aurora, CO 80014-8602 (Family Karaoke)
Qclub- 1567 S. Colorado Blvd. Denver, CO 80222
http://www.qclubphoto.com/
So if you want to look at reasturants in that area you can. I can also ask one of the denver lolis who lives around there about good reaturants.

So I found directions from q-club to Family Karaoke, and you're right, it takes about 13 minutes. So maybe those who only have rides to q-club might be able to carpool with those who have rides to Family Karaoke, as well. (I know I'm one of those people- only having a permit sucks. :/ )

But I was looking around and found a good Vietnamese restaurant near Family Karaoke ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/golden-saigon-aurora ) that is good for groups.

Thank you so very much for the links and addresses!

I second Karaoke if I can get in. I'm only 18 and most karaoke places are 21+

And nice restaurants in the Denver area::
Hard Rock Cafe- 16th Street Mall

Maggiano's Little Italy- 16th Street Mall

Macaroni Grill- 2500 E 1st Ave Denver, CO 80206-5631 (303)399-6676

House Of Commons is down near the mall as well if we want to go for tea and not dinner. There's also Gunther Toody's on Colorado which is always a blast to go to. Its a 50's diner but I think it would be a great place to go.

Gunther Toody's
4500 East Alameda Ave
Glendale, CO 80246

Wow, thank you for the links!
I'm under 21 as well, so perhaps one of the lolis who has been to Family Karaoke as well can tell us if there is an age restriction? I tried to find out if there was one but couldn't find the information.

I found a really nice Vietnamese restaurant just 0.3 miles away from Family Karaoke, Golden Saigon (http://www.yelp.com/biz/golden-saigon-aurora). I thought this might be a good place to go, especially since it's so close by.

I've never had Vietnamese food. :] But I'm willing to try something new~ If it's close and you think we'll all like it then go ahead and plan a meet up.

Sounds great! I was wondering when would be a good time to go to Q-club, and how much time do you all usually spend there? Also, would karaoke or dinner first be a good idea? When should either of those events start?

Sorry for all the questions ^^"

I think dinner first then karaoke(because karaoke stays open longer) and I think it would be better to switch to saturday and have like a pre loli day or something since lolis who have work or school won't be able to stay for very long on sunday . It may ruin the whole point of the loli-day meet but i am scared not alot of people are going to be able to make it . I think 3:30 or 4 would be good time to go to Q-club so we have 2 or 2 and a half hours to have fun, We can take the pictures but also hang out and talk or get boba that is the same lot. pice depends on how many we do and how many people come if we do four purikura it will be around thirty but if there are six people it won't expensive. also for karaoke two hours in a small room is 40 i am not sure about the big rooms though .it would be a good ideal to tell everyone to bring 10 or 15 dollars.
whoa that is long >o

That is a great idea, I think Saturday would be more flexible for most people's schedules.
And thank you for telling me prices!
So it's:
3:30-4:00 : Q-club
aprox. 6:00 : dinner
And karaoke after? Sounds like a plan. :3

I was thinking splitting the cost would be a good idea, and I'll be sure to put in the post that people should bring enough money for purikura and karaoke. Also, I'll mention for them to bring money for dinner. :3

Thank you for all the information! I love Vietnamese food, too ^_^

sounds like a plan. You should let them know that they can come or go at an time incase they don't have enough money or have other things to do . really the cost all depends on how long we stay for karaoke and how much purikura we do but I think 20 dollars should be enough.
