Please excuse this message if you think that it is inappropriate but I have found a reasonable way to make donations to the Japanese relief efforts without the bank fee.

The Japanese Consulate General of Denver has a link on their website to the Japan America Society of Colorado who is collecting donations locally for the Japanese relief efforts, which should inable anyone who is interested in doing so to mail a check to them.
Suggest that "Japan Relief" is written in the "For:" line at the botton left of the check.
