I've been sitting here with Data waiting for Geordi to reactivate him, which should happen any time now. He and Wes are doing a redundant series of last-minute checks. In the meantime I thought I would update this journal.
We've all been worried and most of us have been caught up in the search for Data, so there's not much else of import to write about, but there are a few observations I've made. Firstly, Wes has come into his own -- I had a few chats with him before he left for good, one of them of a more maternal nature, as I discouraged him from dropping out of Starfleet altogether. He'd stuck with it through the court-martial and the extended time at the Academy, it could be simple self-doubt, etc. But he made a decision otherwise and it's paid off. He's quite a self-sufficient and mature young man and I'm proud of him.
Secondly, Will is ignoring me. I know we've had our arguments recently, but I believed we had resolved them. I'm going to gain weight if I keep eating chocolate, so I hope I hear from him soon.
