Ugh. So much to do this weekend.
All website stuff.
So what the project entails is I've been working on a website for my old boss for his magic store, so they can do e-commerce type stuff. So, I taught myself a new coding language, and MS SQL Server sorta, and working on graphics, and design, and database administration.. etc etc pain in my ass. But it's awesomesauce. Design is pretty much complete, database has the products in it, it just needs to be cleaned up and made to work efficiently for searches (which, trust me, is a lot harder than you would think), and just last weekend I went homeward to NY to film demo videos for some of the various tricks...
I said I'd do music underneath them, just to make them a little snazzier, ya know, open up Reason, make a quick little drum beat and something over the top of it. Piece of cake. But, with all the stuff I still have to do, I thought... HM! There are a few musically creative people on my LJ page.. I wonder if I could outsource this...
So, anyone up for donating maybe a minute's worth of basic production music that sounds cool but not too crazy to put under magic demo videos? Even if it was like, a 30 second loopable piece (not all videos are the same length, I still don't have any finalized ones yet), that would work too. Anything I make would probably suck, and everything that's royalty free generally blows... and having original music would be pretty fly. I'd love to do it myself, and I may still give it a shot if I have time... but, outsourcing is fun too.
Mainly, this whole project is doing well for me for new jobs. I made it to a final round with another company a couple weeks ago, but they went with the other person they were interviewing. I was sooo close haha. Technically they said I was good, but the other girl would fit in with their team better. And if I can show I can successfully manage a project and outsource when and what I need to, that may look good for me too. I dunno.
If anyone's interested, let me know.
