B-day +188: This is the closest together my posts have been recently.

I was talking to someone in HR about some dorky computer stuff the other day, then the VP of HR got the bright idea that I might be a good candidate for the company's intranet webmaster. Granted, I know HTML and a little stuff here and there, but, not sure I could pull off the intranet. Then again, I hadn't looked at the job description. I didn't mention any of that. I sounded interested, and then have been playing around with MySQL a lot the past few days.

Then like, two days later... no no. This was Thursday... MONDAY the VP mentioned it again to me. So, she hadn't like, mentioned it in passing and forgot. So, sweet. Only thing is, I've already kinda got set in my position now, and have been there since mid-April, you're not allowed to apply for a new internal position for another year, but, since I'm dealing with HR and they did mention it to me, I'm gonna see if maybe that'll get skirted. And I guess it's pretty much a full time job, so I'd have to blow off my current position. From a business standpoint, I'd be stupid not to do this. It's $12,000 a year more, at MINIMUM. I kinda have a sick love for coding, and this is definitely probably an intelligent career move, rather than being an assistant in the administrative services department...

But, if my manager now gets pissed that I'm kinda looking into this without anyone knowing, would she fire me? And/or try to block the move to another department based on written policy (which I have to look into to see if there is specific wording that says it would be me applying). And I would feel kinda bad about kinda blowing off my manager like that, after really kinda getting into the swing of things...
Ugh.

Back to trying to learn more ASP/SQL/whatever else, just to be able to back myself up... just in case.

Oh. and the papa ginos guy was back today making a delivery and asked me if I was able to get rid of the hot dogs. haha. Hilarious.
