doctor_donna. The prompt word was 'denial'
She knows that she shouldn’t be doing that. It’s wrong. Just because they share a telepathic link, doesn’t mean she has the right to spy on his thoughts, especially without him knowing she’s doing it. Sometimes though, she can’t help herself. He’s her best friend since such a long time, she wants to take care of him, to protect him. And today, he looks especially troubled, so she knows she has to do it. She concentrates on his thoughts and the first thing she sees is a face. Red hair, blue eyes. His new companion, Donna Noble. Then, she hears words. You’re not mating with me Sunshine! Oh, she understands now, she had overheard their conversation earlier. She knows that the Doctor had meant what he said to Donna, that he’s looking for a friend, and just a friend. But she also knows that Donna’s reaction, how horrified she had looked at the thought of ‘mating’ had surprised and maybe hurt a bit the Doctor. Poor him, she thinks. She’s about to make her presence in his mind known and mentally comfort him when she 'hears' something that makes her stop. She had thought, he might be a bit pained by Donna’s words, but apparently, he’s not. Not at all. Right now, the Timelord is trying to convince himself that Donna didn’t mean what she said when she called him ‘a long string of alien nothing’, that she’s just in denial. He’s trying to convince himself, that Donna actually finds him very attractive ,because, let’s be honest, everyone does, (his words, not hers!) but that she just doesn’t want to admit it. The Tardis chuckles to herself, because if there’s one person in denial, that’s him, who refuses to see that for once in his life, someone might actually not fancy him. Oh, that Donna is going to be good for him…
