For those of you who haven't yet realized, the "contested region of fame" was nothing more than the 2nd stand of the 1st violin section at regionals. That is, the acclaimed chess tournament was a prolongued match between me and Sue, played entirely on a piece of notebook paper.

Okay. Enough of that nonesense. Today I partook in the Bridgeport Symphony concerto competition. I played the adagio from the g minor Bach sonata and the intermezzo from Lalo symphonie espagnole. Unfortunately, I did not make the finals. As my grandfather told me, "Son, you win some, you lose some."

So now I must finish out the weekend with schoolwork. But this weekend may not prove to be a complete disappointment. Tomorrow hopefully I'll be attending a Manhattan String Quartet concert. The program looks appealing and contains the Ravel, which I just played.

Sorry that this post is bereft of the hilarity that usually is so rampant amongst the words of http://www.livejournal.com/users/cn2_71828182846/. A happy disposition serves to precipitate humor.
