(no subject)
Well time for the long awaited update. Well, as most of you know my mom came out to visit for a little over a week (she left Monday). I had the week off which was awesome! We did all sorts of stuff. Her and Mike painted the nursery (it looks amazing) yes I will send pics out when I find the printer port so be checking your email in the next few days. I picked out the perfect shade of blue for the sky and the clouds look awesome. I felt a little left out at first cause they painted the walls and the clouds over them but since it is toxic I couldn't help. But then I got to help my mom paint the kite growth chart next to the door because that paint wasn't toxic and stinky. The kite looks great!
We also put the crib and changing table/dresser together. They look so good - but I am definately asking for an electric screw driver for Christmas. We still have to put the armoir together. I can't wait for the baby to come! My grandma will probably make us some curtains when I pick out some cute kite fabric I like and since kite mobiles aren't on the best selling baby lists we may take a cheap one and sew some little kites to put on it instead of whatever they have hanging from it.
We also bought a pool, one of those big above ground ones. We probably wouldn't have done it if it wasn't on summer clearance and my mom wasn't here to nudge us to do it. I'm glad we did though. Mike is in charge of all the pool chemicals and running the pump. We bought a solar cover and it makes the water nice and toasty at night, we get in and it is usually about 90 degrees swimming at night under the stars. I love it! This is the time of year when it rocks to be in AZ with our 80 degree weather and sunshine while everyone else is back in IL with 50-60 degree weather and rain or grey skies.
My mom bought us tons and tons of stuff. She went crazy (in a good way, in a Crystal and Mike get lots of fun stuff for thier house way). She got us a weedeater so we could finally tame the jungle on the side of our house (the weeds were up to my waist). She got us an early Christmas present of a chest freezer to store food... AND she stocked it full of food. She also gave us a bit of money since the wedding didn't cost as much as she planned - which we used to buy the pool. She bought the nursery furniture for us. She also came with almost an entire suitcase full of baby clothes/toys/accessories. Plus I think there was only 1 night we ate dinner at the house (when she made yummy BBQ ribs) and the rest of the time she took us out. She also bought me some cute maternity clothes - which comes in very handy since I just crossed the line and can no longer wear regular clothes.
Anyway, there is probably tons more stuff I am forgetting, but you get the point: My mom is frickin' awesome! (She'll never admit it out loud, but I think I'm her favorite hehe). Plus she also said in awhile (not anytime soon probably) they might think about moving out to AZ and she was asking me how close they would be "allowed" to live by us... we later decided we will kick the people who rent the house next door out (and all of thier 20 or so kids) and my mom and dad can move in there.
Well I gotta go, work is almost done. It was soooo slow today. I'll update more later tonight or tomorrow. We have our next baby appointment Monday.
