I hate rude customers. So please tell me if i'm wrong.
Here it goes...
So yesterday at work a woman calls in and says "I know you've delivered to me once before so I was wondering if I could get a delivery tonight."
Some background info... Last time we dealt with this woman she insulted uswhen we tried to figure out where she lived since she is not from Mt. Pleasant and most of us students don't know the surrounding areas, she failed to mention she had coupons, and then tried to stiff the delivery person on a tip. Not to mention the fact that she underplayed where she lived. She lives in Beal City...notice that is not MT. PLEASANT. So out of the kindness of our heart I let an employee deliver to her. After the delivery was made it took the employee over 20 min to drive there and another 20 to drive back. Keep in mind that also on our menu it says "DINE IN or CARRY OUT" No where does it say deliver. Now we will deliver as a courtesy for a minimum price. But without the boss there we do not receive any gas money or compensation for wear and tear on our vehicles. Therefore I can not make anyone drive for a delivery and since I am an "In Charge Person" I cannot leave the store. I will though let the drivers keep whatever tip money they recieve eventhough it is supposed to go in a community tip jar. I figure that is more of an incentive to deliver...but sometimes they get stiffed on a tip just like this woman did.
Therefore when she called at 8:00 at night and asked for a delivery that would take someone away from the restaurant for an hour...I said no. She did ask if we would deliver to her. And since she didn't like the answer I gave her she stated..."Well that's not a good way to do business" and hung up on me before I could explain my reasons.
Now whomever said that customers are always right can go kill themselves because I don't see how this woman could be?
