Spent another great weekend in Ra-cha-cha with
merina888.
Arrived Friday evening and she and I grabbed a late dinner with
cyberjunkie. Got to spend lots of time cuddling with My Heart's Delight, both before and after dinner. Saturday we got up late, lounged around her apartment doing a whole lot of nothing, which we both enjoyed, and we both needed. Scoped out Durand Eastman park, the location of the Section 89 Picnic (sorry that we missed you,
cyberjunkie. Found the park from two different directions, the way we thought most people would get there, and a back way that locals might use. Took a ride down to the Sea Breeze section, adjacent to the Amusement park of the same name, and walked down to the end of the pier there, at the mouth of Irondequoit Bay. Quite breezy and chilly, thus the lake was quite choppy. Got some nice pictures of the sun setting on Lake Ontario.
Since we got a little chilly, we headed for Starbucks for some spiced Chai (for her), and some Café Mocha (for me). Picked up a copy of the Rochester's City newspaper, the alternative weekly paper, much like the New Times in Syracuse, or Albany's Metroland. I wanted to see what else was going on in and around Rochester for this weekend, and the near future. Lucky us, the issue we picked up also had the Summer Guide, so we now have a whole lot of things that we'd like to do, probably too much for the length of time before school starts back up again.
Left Starbucks, and caught the late showing of Garfield-The Movie, at the Tinseltown theater in Chili (I think). About 12 people total in the theater. The movie was good, though not great. Whoever cast Bill Murray in the role of Garfield should get an Oscar just for that.
Sunday we got up at a reasonable hour, talked to my parents on LI for Father's Day, ran some errands, including some summer job hunting for me. Spent some time with
Merina888's family celebrating Father's Day, and returned to my love's apartment to spend some more quality time with her before I had to leave. Didn't really want to, but it'll be the last time I'll have to leave for a whole week for a while. Got home after midnight.
Was able to get a lot done at work today. Testing is done, so I got a lot of my curriculum material filed. Since I taught an overload in the Fall, and we had two days of curriculum development after the Math A Regents in January, I never had the opportunity to file all my materials for the fall, and since I taught Math A1, B1 and Computer Programming in the fall, and Math A2 and Pre-Math A in the Spring. I had curriculum material from five different courses to file. Suffice to say, it took up a good part of the day. I also got a number of things checked off my end-of-year check out list. I'm quite far ahead with that, compared to the last two years. Typically, I'm scurrying around on Ratings Day to get everything done, so I'm quite happy that I'm that far ahead of the game. Must be
Merina888's organizational skills must be rubbing off on me, to some extent. LOL
Got laundry to do tonight, along with some other housekeeping type stuff. Should be a quiet night, and the week ahead should be a quiet, as well. Just what I could use to finish off the year. Hope it goes as planned, though it rarely does.
