Wow, I haven't updated in forever. Well, since I am awake at 11 in the morning on a saturday, here goes. Last weekend I went to the Disciple/Kutless/Krystal Meyers concert at Saginaw valley state...It was awesome! I don't really listen to kutless and i listen to krystal meyers even less, but Disciple was awesome! They put on such a great show and were energetic and were just wonderful! They rocked it out, with swinging their guitars around at key points and jumping around the stage. It felt good to jump around and have a good time. I went with mackie, jim, and derek, so I knew it would be an interesting night, hehe.
Disciple even carried the energy into the times when the lead singer i think felt lead by God to start talking about some things on his mind. It wasn't even like "ok, now we have to talk about God because it's expected", it was, here what's been on my mind and what God has been putting on my heart, totally sweet! One of the main points and such an awesome truth was, that everyone,(no matter who you are or where you are) is looking for the same thing, that same kind of happiness and contentment. But people can go about it different ways, trying to get that happiness through drugs, sex, and so on. And he said something like, "and i'm not going to say to not sin because it's bad and that." but his point was, that sin takes us away from what we really want, what we are searching for...because it takes us away from God and true happiness. Only God can give us what we are searching for.
He also shared about his dad who is sick, and how as hard as losing him would be, he has the hope that he would see him again. That life on this earth is not the end or the only thing to look forward to, and people who have Jesus have this hope. There was some powerful messages that night. Even the guy that spoke in between the bands had some wonderful God-breathed words to share and it really blessed me. That concert was such a blessing, and it was only 5 bucks when we got to the door, praise God!
Even mackie said that Disciple was the highlight, and he's not really into that hard of music. Kutless was good, but I agreed with Derek that they seemed more watered down...although I enjoyed the praise songs that they did and always love the opportunity to worship God with other believers.
I had so much fun! I really think Disciple should headline a tour, like woah! I had so much fun with Derek...he's such a nice guy and I like that we can joke around....and of course, sing the cheeseburger song when sitting on the benches right next to kutless and their signing line, haha...i thought that was awesome:) I wish he didn't live so far away.
I went and got the hat that I bought signed by disciple too. I felt that they needed encouragement, so I asked the first (i think it waas joel)if i could give him a hug and i said God bless you for what you do and letting God use them! But, by his reaction(although he did hug me) i think that he thought i was like the 16 year-olds and just thought he was hot or something....so not what i was going for! sheesh...oh well...perhaps God just thought he needed a hug, hehe
Last night Rachel and I had a tim burton marathon and watched nightmare before christmas and charlie and the chocolate factory. It was awesome! Although i barely slept last night because she was working and i had the house to myself...I get creeped out sometimes...oh well
So, I think tonight I shall see if Kimberly wants some company since rachel is going to be gone...I could use some company:)
I also thought we were supposed to have guitar lessons this weekend, but i don't think that's happening, which annoys me a bit. I really want to get going on this and start to learn songs...but i think we need to learn more chords and strumming for that to happen. Well, today is going to be homework day. oh, yesterday i started as a sub at bright starts, so please pray that i get a position there and find another job so that I am working at least 30 hours a week so that i can pay for everything.
Ok, enough of my babbling...God bless ya'all!
