Today was a good day.

It really was.

I slept late and then uploaded photos. I had a simple little lunch. I went to check out Tim's house (I'm housesitting for 6 weeks while he's in NY). While there, I discovered that his neighborhood has bunnies. I saw two bunnies hopping around the yards nearby. I took a bunch of pictures that I'll upload later. They were cute. I even saw one wash itself. Awww. From Tim's house, I walked down the street to check out a couple of garage sales. At one, I bought a big piece of lace (maybe a shawl or something) and two cute little aprons for a quarter apiece (although I gave the nice old lady a whole dollar for the three instead). For the last 40 minutes I spent at Tim's, I started reading Herman Melville's Moby Dick. I'm determined to read that very soon. I feel like, as a self-respecting English graduate student, especially one focused on American literature, I should read Moby Dick.

Then Paradigm rehearsal and the Paradigm picnic. Everybody liked my treats. I didn't get a chance to take pictures before they got eaten (bummer), but here's the recipe if anyone's interested. They were delicious; I will make them again sometime. While at the picnic, we ate (of course), but we also played games. I tossed around a football with Chris and Stephanie for a while. I played Bocce ball with Cindy, Lewis, Grif's wife and kids (don't remember their names just now), Josh, David, and Jason. I think Jason and I won. Then, after eating, Heather and I played netless volleyball for a while (Stephanie and Will and Grif's kids came and went, but it was mostly me and Heather). I fell several times. I found sand in my eyebrows hours later. Nice.

After the picnic, Heather, Kisha, Karla, Chris, and I went to Putt Putt and played a round. I lost. But it was still fun. And then we went to Bennigan's at about 11:30 for a quick snack and (for me, anyway) glass of wine.

Now to bed. That was a lot of doing and eating and running around for one day.

The only thing that would've made this better is if Aaron could've come and spent time with us, too. Next time.
