At least sometimes I am.
I am working on a tight schedule if I want to take my comps by the end of this semester, so I spent about 30 minutes today outlining my reading, writing, and grading schedule for the next week. I'll be a busy little bee.
I did remember to include some time for social activity this weekend and for TV this week, so I don't go completely nuts from too much grading and too much theory, but in order to get away with having my social and TV time I'll have to actually stick to my work schedule.
By next week, if all goes well, I should be closer to being caught up with grading and I should have a paper written and ready to turn in to my professor. Hopefully, that will give her enough time to grade it before I need to turn in my scheduling request for my comprehensive exams. And hopefully that will also leave me enough time to finish reading for my comps and to plan out my answers and practice writing them.
If I can do all of those things, then it's on to the dissertation next semester.
