We mostly sat in the river and drank beer, except for when were riding the golf cart around on the rocky, bumpy roads by the river. That was both fun and dangerous, made even more dangerous by several factors working in conjunction: 1) we were all drunk; 2) most of us weren't sure exactly where we were going all of the time, which required some sudden turns, surprises, and reversals; and 3) we never had fewer than three people in the golf cart and usually had four, with one person on another's lap. I almost fell out a few times thanks to this.
Still, though, it was a really relaxing couple of days. There's talk of going again later this summer and maybe renting canoes or kayaks that time.
Stephen and I had been planning a trip to Austin for this last weekend, but that fell through when it turned out that every last person he knows in Austin was going to be in Port Aransas that weekend. Oh well, that gives us something to look forward to later this summer, probably after I get back from Kansas.
