The Last Day of Freedom

Zachary and free beer
Originally uploaded by cmt2779. School starts back up for me tomorrow, so it's back to teaching and going to school to do work. Here's how I spent my final day out of school.

My brother and I went to Granbury to visit our mom. We stopped for lunch in Granbury at this little restaurant we often stop at for lunch when we go out there. They offer every customer a free beer (with your choice of Budweiser or Bud Light) with your meal.

While at lunch, two things happened that will keep me laughing for days. First, we almost couldn't get in the restaurant because my brother couldn't work the front door. I couldn't either because I was laughing so hard at his failure. A nice older man opened the door for us from inside and pretended we weren't retarded for not being able to get in. Second, my brother (who really isn't stupid, I swear, despite today's stories) discovered that "comeuppance" is a real word and not just a weird made-up southern word, a word he conceived as more like "come-up-uns."

After visiting with our mom, we drove back to Dallas and saw There Will Be Blood, which I quite liked.
