Well, I actually went to both of my extracurriculars today! I feel accomplished...aside from the fact that I have done zero homework today as a result, but we won't dwell on that!
I was thinking about skipping out on TKD (again, for like the fourteen gazillionth time) but I had emailed one of the guys asking him to bring my TKD license to practice with him, so I couldn't really not show up after that. It was a good practice though (i.e. NO SPARRING WOO HOOOO) and we spent the entire time doing forms. Which is great, since before today I knew 0 ITF forms, and now I know one. :) It's the red belt one though, so that's pretty nice. I was fortunate enough to have another red belt at practice today who showed me all the steps. What's cool is that I managed to learn it all today, which is a biiig improvement on my memorization skills. I think that doing wushu helped with learning forms too, so that's always a plus.
Then I went to orchestra; it was a much more heartening rehearsal tonight - the Brahms Hungarian Dances went pretty darn well. Everything just seemed to click, which reminded me WHY I chose to be in an orchestra in the first place. There isn't another feeling quite like when you get a whole orchestra playing together in harmony. The Beethoven Piano Concerto didn't go quite as smoothly however...but we did manage to get through it without stopping, which is a plus BECAUSE OUR CONCERT IS FREAKING TOMORROW. *hyperventilates* I don't think I've *ever* been nervous for an orchestra concert before this. I am crossing my fingers that things don't go too badly tomorrow. *eep*
One last thing - you'd never think that doing TKD forms is strenuous or anything (I walked out of practice going "yeahh, at least I won't be sore tomorrow!") but my hands were literally shaking afterwards. I even dropped my bow all over the floor at rehearsal tonight because of how weak my grip was. And I feel really drained. Hmm.
Any hoo, now that I've finished this entry (and a piece of pecan pie ;) it's time to do a bit of work before bed!
