When do You send Friend Requests/Comment on Stuffs?

I've was a lurker for quite some time.  I enjoyed lurking.  It was good to me.  Much like when I was young and stood back against the wall at a party to see where I wanted to be before I stepped forward and got to know people at all, I did the same here, with the SPN fandom.  The same thing happened here that used to happen at those long ago ( Read more... )

I'm in awe that you're thinking of a consistent strategy for this. My own is random. If someone has friends only posts I want to read or I'm afraid I might miss some juicy fic/art. Mostly I assume I'm annoying and wait until others friend me. I wouldn't generally ask to friend a sock account but if I think they can be convinced to write/post pretties ... I may consider it (depends on the bio). Today I friended somebody because for one I like their fic and for two because they don't actually live in Narnia but somewhere that I know. It will feel nice to squee with someone on this side of the water when SPN returns.
Some days I don't feel like commenting, friending or anything because I get anti-social and don't want to speak to anyone, at all, RL or internet.

So yeah, short answer, totally random!Which is, of course no use to you. Hmm. Sorry.

As for saving fic/art. If I'm saving just for me and it won't be shared then I will sometimes download/copy. Generally I'm too lazy and want to preserve what space I have on my hard drive. I don't generally share what I have without permission. It's how I would hope people would treat my fic. Fine for personal use. Ask before sharing the whole thing, and don't repost anywhere :)

*laughs* I adore you!

I tend to compartmentalize a good portion of my life. As a result, that translates into preferring to have a system rather than flying by the seat of my pants. Oh God. I sound like a grown up. *flails* Ick! Sorry - inner child got the better of me for a moment there.

I appreciate that you prefer random. Initially - I was, in what I read, in what I thought. As I have gotten further into the fandom, I discovered specifics that I like - and some that I really don't. Still, if the writer or artist is just that good, seems like my head makes room, if that makes sense.

I'm with you on the saving. I think that will become my personal policy - though I am still terribly likely to ask just because it feels squicky to me to grab and not ask. With that said, probably goes without saying I could not repost/share/etc. Their art is theirs, not mine to take/share without express written consent.
