[trigger warning: eating disorder, anorexia] anonymous December 12 2011, 01:13:02 UTC
Seaver has a history of anorexia linked to wanting to be the perfect daughter, but she beat it and thought it would never be an issue again. When she is in the BAU and under new stress, she notices the signs of that behavior manifesting again and tries to stop herself from repeating it.

I've been really nervous about posting this because I've never had an eating disorder and can't claim to know exactly what it feels like. I do feel I have a decent understanding of them based on the years of psych classes I took and having had multiple friends fight with them, but that's definitely not the same as people's lived experiences. Please feel free to tell me if I fucked up anything.

I really enjoyed this fic. It seemed very realistic, and it gives Seaver a much more interesting to exit than anything we saw on the show.

I'm glad to hear you liked it! Thank you for the conmpliment.

Interestingly, I never really thought about that, but it makes sense, especially because a therapist (which is who she was calling) would likely tell her that she needed to find ways to reduce stress, including quitting such a stressful job. If I end up de-anon'ing, I'll probably end up adding on to better include that thought as her reason for leaving. So thank you for adding depth I didn't even mean to include, lol.
