Because this, this isn't what she wanted. She's tired, so tired of running, of being afraid of her own shadow. She wants to have a home, wants to belong. She wants to stay. More than anything, she wants to remain with the people she loves, the family the team is.
But she can't. She did this to protect them. She went after Doyle, on her own, because she couldn't allow any of them to get sucked into this. This is her war, her past. Her friends, her family, they didn't sign up for this.
She made her choice. Now she has to continue protecting them. As much as it hurts, as much as she knows they will hurt, she knows that it's the only way. Emily Prentiss is dead. She died on the table. Just vanishing into thin air wasn't enough this time, this time it had to be real. She died and her team buried her.
And now she has to leave Emily Prentiss behind, has to leave her past and everyone in it behind. All her accomplishments, they don't mean anything anymore. Because they ( ... )

Leave this room, this building, this city, and this state. She doesn’t want be here. She will walk, she will run. Yet if all she can do is crawl because of this pathetic, this broken condition she is currently in, she will do just that because she simply doesn’t want to be here.
She can’t be here.
She wants to go back to them. She wants to go back home.
They are her home.
The home she has longed for ever since she can remember. The home filled with tears, fears, and laughs. And the home where all she ever felt had been security, hope and ultimately, love because through the five years they have spent together, they are everything she could wished for, they are everything she would die for.
And she did because Emily Prentiss never made it off the table.
