So I promised to write this up a few months ago, but it started getting so bad that it wasn't worth my time.
But, the laptop strikes back!

My first mistake, ordering from the company named Tigerdirect.ca
Do NOT ever, Ever, EVER buy something from this company.
EVER!
I placed my order, paid with PayPal and the little info box said it would ship within the next 24 hours and 6-10 for delivery, and went about my daily living.
That weekend i went camping, when i came back into cell phone range, i found a message on my phone asking me to phone the company.
I did so on Monday, and was greeted by this comment.
"Did you cancel your order?"
o.O;
No, no i did not, to prove it i was no where near any sort of communication device capable of contacting someone within 200 yards away, let alone 3 provinces.
"Well according to our records you canceled the order this weekend"
o.O;
Okay, well i didn't
Alright, so i'll just reinstate the order for you, how's about that?"
.... okay, fine....
Order back up.
*Later that week*
I get a phone call, very garbled and barely audible something to do with a home phone number, with a number based in Ontario, so i guess it's Tigerdirect again.
Phone them up.
"Did you cancel your order?"
O.o; (honest truth same words!)
No,
"Oh well, we can't process this order because you didn't give up a home phone number just a cell phone."
...
I don't have a home phone number, I don't need one as I have a cell.
"Well okay, do you have a copy of your lease?"
No, my roommate didn't make one.
"utility bills"
Paid for with rent.
"anything with your address on it?"
Mastercard bill?
"hmmm, i dunno, I will have to check with my manager."
*hold music*
"Yeah that should be fine."
alright, problem with this scenario? Why the hell would you require a home phone number to make an online order?? and i think that's why it got canceled the first time around... you cancel my order, without my permission because i don't have a home phone number??? O.O;
But they already have my money, so i press ahead.
I get my bill, fax it into them.
"Hang on, need to check with my manager."
Yeah, you said that last time.
"she wants you to send us your drivers license too.
o.O; fine, just give me my dang laptop.
*hold music*
Oh yeah, that's fine, we will have it out to you tomorrow.
yeah.
why do you need my driver's license? and if that worked, why the bill? o.O;
*3 days later*
"Hi this is Tigerdirect.ca calling, we have some additional charges we need you to complete."
....
$6 due to some fee i have to pay cause i live in Alberta.
alright fine, i can deal with that, why didn't you bring it up like 2 Weeks ago?!?!
fine. i put it on my Mastercard, a whole $6.36 (this number becomes important later... believe it or not...)
the order tracking shows it's backordered and will be out soon.
*6 days later*
"Did you cancel your order?"
(I'm not making this up!)
Noooooooo
"Oh well, that model is no longer in stock and has been discontinued."
.....
So cause you screwed me around for 2 weeks i'm not gonna get my bloody laptop?
okay, now what?
"Here let me pick something out for you..."
He emails me a couple laptops, and i phone him again.
I like this one, but it's more expensive.
"Fine fine, we will just charge the addiontal expenses to you Mastercard okay?"
... fine. as long as I get a laptop out of this. another $98.90 (this number not as important for some reason)
*4 days later* (are you keeping track at home?)
I get a phone call waking me up bright in the morning.
yes?
"That model cannot be shipped to Canada."
!!!!!

I order a laptop off a Canadian site. from a company based in Canada, a laptop specially pointed out to me by your staff! And It's not available.
then why the FREAKING HECK is it on you bloody website?
they have an american version of the site tigerdirect.com. so Canadian stuff on Canadian site make sense eh?

you got to be freaking.... *deep breath* fine fine, whatever, you already got my money.
He emails me one, I sign off on it, pay the additional money AGAIN on my mastercard another $288.11 (again remember this number)

I promptly forget everything to do with Tigerdirect.ca and move on with my life.
and this is where it should have ended.
but.. as i stated earlier.
The Revenge of the Laptop.
I get a letter in the mail.
from tigerdirect.ca
saying i owe them a total of $297.48
Now do any of you kids playing at home remember seeing this amount?
Neither do i.
It took me a good 20 minutes of searching to figure out, the some how are charging me for the amount before and after the middle transaction, but not the middle one, which means.... I don't know what it means, it's all FUBAR to me.
So now I am on credit report for failing to pay a fee that i bloody well payed.
How do i Know? i checked, the wonders of the internetz all my bank and credit card statements at the click of a button.
My credit card says they are paid.
My bank says they are paid.
They do not.
Fuck off.
So that is where i am at right now.
playing phone tag with the financial dept 2 time zones away from me, as i try to explain to them. They have the bloody money, now go shove a stick up your ass.
who will win this clash of the moron and the guy who really wants them to just go away?
