C'mon Guess!
Oh the suspense, it's building!
What did Dribbler do today?
Got your guesses ready yet?
Alright,
I'll start off slow,
It involves; The C-train being delayed at Chinook station, someone calling a Fire Truck on me, Sugar being injected into my hand, and Cajun Chicken Pasta.
Were any of you close?
well to make a short story long, I passed out,
Again, on the way to work today.
I got on at Canyon Meadows, I remember being at Southland. (two stops later)
Then my vision went black, I felt some sensation of movement, and woke up to find the train stopped at Chinook and me spread out on a bench Which is not easy as the train was PACKED! (another two stops, and the time it takes for the train to stop and the driver to come back to be peering over me when I finally managed to get my eyes open.)
My eyes fell immediately back shut and i kinda lost it again.
Took a few minutes to get mobility in my limbs again, by then, an ambulance and Fire Truck were idling beside the station.
Why a Fire Truck? I have no idea, but it was there.
Now I had a chance to clear my head, and felt almost perfectly fine, a little fuzzy and a deep throb, but mobile, and cognitive.
I was escorted off the train, and waited for the ambulance people,
we waved off the Firedudes and i was escorted to the ambulance.
I sat in there for a while, went over my recent history,
Drugs: Never
Alcohol: I've had one drink for all of 2007
Breakfast: Apple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal Crisp
Blood Sugar: Normal
Pulse: Normal
Responses: Normal
So why did you pass out: No Idea.
So with no reasonable explanation why a perfectly healthy young man would pass out on the train, I was, against my exclamations of feeling fine, taken to the hospital.
I had a bunch of elctordes strapped to my chest, and Feet?
monitored, poked, prodded, questioned, got needles stuck in me.
Then we arrived at the hospital.
Where...
Had about 15 electrodes strapped to me all over again,
I was monitored some more, poked, got the sugar Saline injected into me with a HUGE syringe, (seriously this thing was half the size of my wrist!) more questions, et al.
and then i waited.
and waited
read my book
slept
listened to my iPod
Waited
Got ECG'd
Waited.
Finished the book
got REALLY bored.
waited
doctor came in, 3 and a half hours since i was admitted
got me to stand, answer some more question did a few exercises,
said i was fit as a fiddle, but as this was my 4th time blacking out in four years with not alot of explanation. (Once in Slave Lake, Once in North Hill Mall, Once at my place, and now today.) And i have had a few black outs that did not involve me passing out, (the one in Quebec being the one that worried me the most at the time, because i literally lost all feeling of the left side of my body)
that i should go see a Neurologist, then he gave me a clean bill of health and sent me on my way.
Now I didn't have my cell phone on me, as it's not allowed at work, so my work really had no idea where i was,
the ambulance drivers made a phone call for me, but only got the answering machine. I tried phoning after being discharged from the nurse's phone, answering machine again.
went outside, saw the bus idling just outside the doors, ran to catch it, got within 2 feet of the bumper and it drove away.
... you see a guy running after you, out of the emergency room of the hospital and you drive away?
anyways it's probably a good thing it did, or i would have most likely gone back to work.
so back in i go, search for a phone,
now i'm in the lobby, which leaves me the pay phones.
about to make a call for a ride, when i realize,
I have No Idea where I am.
go ask the nurse for the address.
She get's a funny look on her face.
"I don't know our address."
...
oi
"But i know the name of the hospital, just tell them you are at Rockyview."
that helps.
Back to the phone, phone up one of the only people i know with a car and would be willing to drop what they were doing and come get me.
My Dad
Guess where they were?
c'mon guess
That's right, just pulling out of Rockyview Hospital, my mother was getting some tests done.
o.O; freaky!
So i catch a ride.
The ride made my head pound quite unhappily
get fed lunch.
and dropped off home.
I walk in the door, take off my outer coat,
and the phone rings, it's my work,
O.o;
apparently the dude who was doing my job while I was out today, wasn't doing too well, and i had to spent (accumulatively over 4 phone calls) an hour on the phone walking him through the job.
and i'm not even getting paid for it.
*sigh*
so that was the fun and excitement of my day.
