So, i thought i might try and get this weekend report done before the next weekend starts...
so here we go
So after my whiny post about not having anything to do,
13urton calls me, her cousin is going to be in the premier of Storybook Theatre's Oliver, playing that night.
W00t for musicals!
Oliver, haven't seen the movie in years, read the book a while back, and the play was pretty damn good.
Fannigans rendition of "Reviewing the Situation" was terrific! It in itself made the show absolutely fantastic, (and apparently this actor was a stand in who only started working on it the week before, superb.)
and i think i scared one of the younglings sitting in front of me when i started singing along to "Oom Pah Pah" :p
Afterwards was a trip back to SAIT, in which we made it in time for me to sit in of a game of Bang! just long enough to kill the sheriff :p
and as i hadn't eaten all day, i suggested a trip to a local eatery, as it was about 11 at night at this point our options for sit down fare was kind of limited.
So we head to the local pub and sit out on the Patio,
we find out food is not being served on the patio so we go inside,
the only seats left are the ones next to the speaker where an incredibly loud band happens to be playing.
Now i'm no shmuch to loud bands, i was a foot away from the speakers at the Trapt concert
but these guys also weren't very good, so it didn't help.
when we had gotten there most of the group hadn't wanted to eat anything, but by this time they were all hungry, so everyone oredered.
we wait
they get food.
I keep waiting...
we call the waitress over,
"what you wanted something too?"
*nods* yeah i was the first one to order.
oh, brb
....
waiting.
oh sorry, kitchen is closed.
*sigh*
why me?
So Sat was the farewell picnic for
jakalope before he leaves to join the Royal Canadian Air Force, many a good souls showed up, and a few sour ones, but they don't read this so :p on them.
we ate, threw water guns at each other, discussed hentai, and played one of the most violent games of ultimate Frisbee i've ever been a part of.
I was literally limping for the next three days thanks to that game.
but i managed to keep up with all the testosterone jockies, so i accept my wounds with pride.
(though trying to explain that i'm limping due to frisbee got me some weird looks at work)
frisbee was followed by more food, good fire, and tying jackalope upside down from a tree.
There was to be a game of Risk: Godstorm to follow this, but it was sadly called off due to lack of interest :(
But, may all of you wish Jackalope good luck on his future, as he plans to go Career, most of us will probably never seem him again.
fair thee well dear friend.
Sunday started off with a trip to the gardens to further my volunteering for Funny Fest (www.funnyfest.ca say you were at Devo fest and get 2 free tickets....)
They started late so i spent my time buying a bunch of new DVD's , (only two musicals, i need to expand my collection...)
the comedian was absolutly terrible, in the middle of Devonian Gardens, at a family affair he is making jokes about Gays, and Al-Queda to six year olds. These aren't funny to begin with, let alone the setting.
*shakes head* thankfully i'm a volunteer so i could tell him what an idiot he is :D
This preceded me coming home, and writing my post about Stinkyness.
I am quite surprised by the feedback i got, my last post about my dark past led to me being physically threatened, and banned from Christmas, this one i got emails, people sending the link out to friends, and posts about it in their own journal. I was amazed!
power of LJ eh?
anyways, just a comment to
mathgeek_0001 yeah, i am pretty much an open book, and i do talk about my life and what i do, (for people who read my LJ this should be obvious by now :p)
i figure, why not? everyone's got a story, and everyone's story can help and enlighten others, i gain nothing by keeping my mouth shut about this kind of thing, talking about it, strikes me as one of the best ways to spread knowledge, and awareness, not only of the problem but the person.
(that really didn't make a lot of sense to me while i was writing it... but whatever)
but don't worry, there are certain parts of my past that i do not talk about, and probably will never talk about, so don't think you know all my secrets yet :p
Work, and then more work, and more work, clocked over 6 hours of overtime this week, and that's including me taking a shift off to work on homework.
Today was really annoying too, cause i filed some paperwork in the wrong spot, and i didn't discover this till i was clocking out, took three people about 20 minutes going through over 80 bundles of paper work, to find the missing paper in the Fifth last bundle. *sheesh*
but anyways i got class in a few minutes, and i need to go to the bathroom so TTYL.
and there, you're up to date.
