The Boston Job
6,400 words - PG-13 - Arthur/Eames, Ariadne/Yusuf

Arthur can’t seem to make his schedule match up with Eames’, but that’s cool. It’s not like he misses him or anything. At various stages, kyasuriin, bookshop, and fosfomifira all gave me tremendous amounts of help with this thing. Because they are great.

There's mud all over the mudroom. )

Ugh, I feel like I need to read this again, like, post haste, because I read it too quickly the first time and I kind of want to live in it. Thank you thank you thank you, for making something wonderful out of my crazy prompt, which I wanted to apologize for almost as soon as I remembered what I had written. I love the quietness of this, and the mudroom, and Eames cooking stew but also so many other things, which is why I really need to read it again.

I read this again, and not too quickly like a child who's just been given ice cream and is getting a brain freeze, and, seriously, it's still amazing, and I am still thank you. I didn't even notice the absence of frogs :)

Hey, hey, I loved your prompt! I want to read so much fic about bikes and tattoos and abandoned zoos. :(

Also, I am so, so glad you liked this, I can't even tell you. Writing for someone whose fic you like A GREAT DEAL is slightly intimidating, but I had a great time doing it! :D

How great are mudrooms? I mean really.

I hadn't done a gift exchange before and found writing giftfic much more difficult than I had anticipated. But you did a great job--seriously, I love this (and I love your fic generally, SO). And now you are reminding me about my grab-bag-of-ideas prompt and maybe I should be writing these things, don't remind me of things I could be writing.

Mudrooms are so great.

I second what Wldnst said about wanting to live in this fic forever. It's so quiet and subtle and real and tired but not bored, and just, perfect. <3 <3 <3 <33333333! And the ending is perfection.

This is lovely and quiet and has surprising moments of humor I really love. I especially loved this:

He's brought a blanket with him this time, only it can't be keeping Eames all that warm if it's mainly draped all over the floor. In Eames’ defense, he does have what looks to be one extremely cozy foot.

I'm not gonna lie, I just really like imagining Eames like that.

Thanks, lady!
