i think its always worth a try. I phrased it in a way that was "So, if I don't figure out how to find $10,000 I will need to sell myself on a street corner somewhere." They told me they haven't had a student yet who has had to resort to selling themselves. And I said 'Yet.'

And then I got my award amount!
